About the position

The Media Sales Manager is responsible for selling our advertising solutions to brand advertisers, agencies and driving sales across Softonic multiple sites and diversified ad solutions—including sponsored, display, video, and custom ads. 

Media Sales Manager will  take full ownership of the brands and agencies sales vertical, working with both existing and prospecting clients and be responsible for their long term growth and full sales cycle. Through a consultative approach, you’ll offer advertising solutions across desktop, mobile, and in the programmatic network. 

Media Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales.


Key responsibilities

  • Maximize ad revenue from brands and agencies managing quarterly revenue goals.
  • Understand Softonic’s advertising opportunities to help build relevant advertising solutions for brands and agencies and deliver the highest level of sales and customer service to them.
  • Prospect, penetrate and create new relationships with clients and advertising agencies.
  • Seeking out and developing strategic relationships with decision-makers and working directly with clients and their ad agencies to develop custom media programs to suit their specific needs.
  • Establish in-person relationships with clients by conducting a high volume of face-to-face calls.
  • Drive deals to closure in a new business environment and retain and grow revenue from existing advertisers.
  • Manage the relationship with a dedicated Account Manager and Ad Ops to distribute workload and optimize the efficiency of your area of sales.
  • Understand and learn about the programmatic media buys and stay up to date with your sales strategy to capture media agencies budget on that channel. 
  • Build and execute  a thoughtful sales strategy for the brands and agencies sales area.
  • Utilize Sales CRM to track all pertinent account information and sales progress as well as forecast and prioritize to achieve quarterly quota goals.
  • Attend industry trade shows and local events to meet clients and cultivate relationships.

Minimum Experience and qualifications

  • 4 years of advertising sales in a large online property.
  • Experience selling to local media planners and direct branding clients.
  • Solid global knowledge in Internet usage and online media trends.
  • A team player who is able to maintain excellent working relationships with clients and internal departments, willingness to work under pressure, and one who puts the needs of our Clients first.
  • Passionate about people and passionate about sales.
  • Good understanding of technology and contacts within the Online Advertising market.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell the value of media properties rather than just the program/price.
