About the position
Softonic is undergoing a transformation, for which we want to use the experience and value generated throughout our 25-year history to define what the next years will look like. We have bold plans and a clear vision, one where innovation is core to success. In this context, we are looking for a VP of Product, a key position for which we need a leader willing to disrupt the way in which we are working, to define the What and Why, leading not only the products we have built, but also the New Initiatives area, where creating new products to diversify the business is the key goal. Responsible for developing long-term strategies, programs, and collaboration, this role will enable and inspire teams to research, ideate, and execute to produce new revenue and traffic streams for the organization.
Reporting to the CEO, this role will occupy one of the driving seats of the company, having a key responsibility over the strategic decisions and working along with the rest of the leadership team.
Develop a vision and set the strategic direction of the product which aligns with customer needs, business growth, and overall technology strategy.
Own and drive the whole product lifecycle from design, launch and developing cross functional partnerships.
Leads the innovation team to develop and launch new and innovative solutions into the marketplace
Inspire, lead, and manage the Product team in our Core business, and ensure that Softonic retains the position of Number 1 app distribution platform.
Evolve Softonic monetization strategies and implement new disruptive ones, with a key focus on RevAMP our publisher network.
Influence and establish a shared vision with the leaders of Marketing, Advertising and Engineering to build high-level consensus on priorities leading to product execution.
Ensure high throughput and efficiency in Product operations (stakeholder alignment, planning, and delivery) by establishing clear and measurable goals.
Champion a hands-on approach to innovation by using a combination of Data, listening to the market, and “getting out of the building” to get the first-hand customer/user/partner insights.
Drive a “fail fast to learn fast” lean testing culture in all projects and innovations. Evolve the vision for the Innovation ecosystem, and identify skills and talent to establish a dedicated team
Mentor for key product management personnel, constantly ensuring improvement in their professional skills Minimum Experience and qualifications
Be part of the Leadership team to evaluate and implement new business opportunities, including M&A.
8+ years of experience in online products in fast-paced environments, managing Product teams, and working collaboratively with Engineering teams
Excellent interpersonal, management, and communications skills.
Proven experience managing and mentoring product teams, and being a manager of Product Managers.
Experience in AdTech and implementing monetization strategy
Demonstrated experience in working and succeeding (and failing many times) in new business ventures.
Experience as an entrepeneur within an own project or interentrepenering within the company
Experience in innovating within Product
Good knowledge of Agile Methodologies (i.e. SCRUM) with relevant experience in all phases of a Product Life Cycle, from planning to development, and market launch.
Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, financial planning, and business operations.
Technical background in Computer Science or equivalent is desirable
High level of English. Spanish would be desired but not a must.
